Selkie Transformation Black Background Print

The mythical Selkie or seal folk are beings who can transform from seal to human by shedding their skin.  They are most commonly found in folktales from Northern Scotland and the Scottish Isles.

I was inspired to create this tribute to these magical beings after a holiday to the Scottish Highlands, where the scenery was a feast for the imagination!

The original artwork was painted in many shades of metallic golds and japanese watercolours, and the metallic details have been hand embellished by myself to recreate the magic of the original artwork.

The illustration aims to convey both sides of the selkies life.

Each print is created on 245gsm fineart, textured paper which creates a rich reproduction of the orignial sure to not disappoint!
